Tomáš Surka

Founder & Managing Partner

Tomáš Surka is a seasoned entrepreneur and advisor with over 15 years of experience in management consulting, M&A, and venture investment across the globe.

He has founded, scaled, and divested multiple businesses in HR services, staffing, and business advisory — giving him a rare combination of operator and investor perspective that translates directly into client outcomes.

His approach is direct, hands-on, and results-driven. SURKA Group was built on the belief that the best advisors don’t just advise — they take ownership, solve problems, and stand behind the results.

Running global HR operations
Through SURKA Group, Tomáš serves as strategic partner in Orienta Czech, GLOBL, and Prime Search Manpower — a fully integrated international recruitment platform spanning Europe, the Gulf, and South East Asia.
2024
Co-founded Prime Search Manpower — Manila
Established a fully DMW-licensed manpower agency in the Philippines, unlocking direct access to one of the world's largest pools of skilled overseas workers for clients across GCC and Europe.
2023
Opened Dubai office — GCC expansion
Established SURKA Group's permanent presence in Dubai, UAE, anchoring the firm's GCC advisory and HR placement operations across the region.
2023
JobConnector rebranded as GLOBL — full-cycle HR
JobConnector merged with Orienta Czech, forming GLOBL — a full-cycle HR brand specialising in international workforce mobility. SURKA Group partially divested but retained minority stake in Orienta.
2021
Orienta Group — new home for JobConnector & Quanta
JobConnector and Quanta Human Resources were integrated into Orienta Group. SURKA Group's shareholding remained intact — a calculated long-term position in a growing HR platform.
2020
Sold JobConnector. Acquired shares in Quanta.
Successfully sold JobConnector to Quanta Human Resources — then immediately acquired a stake in Quanta Czech Republic. A clean pivot that deepened the bet on international workforce mobility.
2019
Exited Devire
Divested SURKA Group's stake in Devire Czech Republic back to majority owner Devonshire Investment Group — a clean exit from the permanent placement and IT outsourcing vertical.
2018
Two new ventures in 12 months
Co-founded Devire Czech Republic with Devonshire Investment Group (permanent placement & executive search), then launched JobConnector — an HR company built from scratch around international workforce mobility.
2017
McROY sold. SURKA Group born.
Led the successful sale of McROY to a VC investor — then immediately founded SURKA Group as an independent advisory and investment platform. A deliberate move from operator to owner.
2015
Launched McROY Hungary
Extended McROY's footprint into Hungary as part of the group's CEE expansion strategy — adding to a growing multi-country HR operation under unified leadership.

Alongside running Czech operations, appointed to the McROY Group Board with responsibility for international development. Strategy, expansion, and cross-border execution across multiple markets.

Took McROY Czech Republic from a blank page to a full branch network across the country. Hired the team, built the infrastructure, won the clients.

Led the Moravian region for Synergie, one of Europe's largest staffing groups — launching new branches and implementing temporary staffing operations from the ground up.

Tomáš has been building his presence across the UAE and GCC for several years, working directly with founders, investors, and corporates on market entry, entity structuring, and commercial growth.

Based in Dubai and connected across the region — from Abu Dhabi to Riyadh — he gives clients immediate access to the relationships, local knowledge, and deal flow that typically take years to develop independently.

He is a firm believer that the GCC opportunity remains significantly underestimated by European businesses — and works to bridge that gap through practical, no-nonsense guidance.
